The other day, I received a letter from a dear old friend of mine, who is now living in England. She’d been cleaning out her clutter and had found several letters I’d written to her or her family over the years. How odd it was to be instantly revisiting my eight-year-old self. It is all there, already, somehow. I thought I’d share one of the letters here.

I am so happy to have received a shrink that year for Christmas. It’s not every girl’s parents who see a need early and act upon it!

I thought I’d leave the comments open on a few of my posts and see what happens — it isn’t that I don’t want comments, it’s just that the admin on comments can be onerous. Anyhow, it’s an experiment.


I decided to make a little reading video yesterday. I’ve been making a series of videos for my course Writer’s Talk with photobooth on my mac. The quality is decent for internet use, and playing around with it amuses me immensely. Have a look:
